How does it work?
Orbit Hounds operates a mobile dog gym that comes to your location. Our retrofitted truck allows dogs to exercise on premium treadmills while enjoying climate control. Simply book online, and we’ll handle the rest!
Is it safe for dogs to exercise outside during Houston heat?
Houston heat can make outdoor exercise difficult and sometimes unsafe for dogs, especially during the summer. Orbit Hounds provides a climate-controlled mobile gym where dogs can safely burn energy without the risks of extreme heat or hot pavement.
What if my dog has never used a treadmill before?
Most dogs are new to the treadmill! We introduce the slatmill slowly and help dogs build confidence at their own pace. Many dogs understand it within a few minutes, while others may take a couple sessions.
What is a dog treadmill / slatmill?
A dog slatmill is a non-motorized treadmill designed specifically for dogs. The dog powers the movement themselves, allowing them to run or walk at their own pace while staying safe and controlled.
What breeds can participate?
We cater to dogs of all breeds and energy levels. Whether your dog is a high-energy pup or prefers a more leisurely pace, our gym provides tailored workouts to suit their needs, helping them stay fit and happy.
Will my dog actually enjoy this
Many dogs end up loving it once they understand the activity. The run becomes a fun, energy-burning game, and many dogs get excited when they see the Orbit Hounds truck arrive.
Is this only for high-energy dogs?
Not at all. Sessions are customized for each dog. Some dogs come for high-energy workouts, while others benefit from controlled exercise, weight management, or mental stimulation.
How long does a session last?
Most sessions last about 20–30 minutes including warm-up, run time, and cool-down. The actual run length depends on the dog’s fitness level and comfort.
My dog has tons of energy but I don’t have time to exercise them enough. Can this help?
